Planning the Right Support, Step by Step
Stable Futures is Amegreen Children’s Services‘ non-school alternative provision for children and young people aged 6 to 18.
Working across Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and beyond, Stable Futures works in close partnership with local authorities, schools and education professionals to provide accessible, inclusive and bespoke alternative provision. Our growing referral network spans communities across the region, enabling us to support learners from a wide geographical area while building strong, collaborative partnerships with those who know each young person best.
This page explains who we support, how the referral process works and what you will need, so you can decide whether Stable Futures is the right fit for your young person.
Small-Group Learning
Stable Futures is no longer a 1:1 provision. Our programmes are designed around small-group learning, providing opportunities for young people to develop communication, social interaction, confidence, independence and teamwork alongside their individual learning goals.
As part of the referral process, we therefore need to establish that a young person can access and engage safely and positively within a small-group environment, with the appropriate level of staff support.
We work closely with referring schools, local authorities and other professionals to understand each young person’s needs and ensure that the provision is an appropriate and positive fit before a placement begins.
Who we support
We work with young people aged 6 to 18 who are not thriving in a mainstream setting. This includes young people who:
have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
are autistic or have other special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
are experiencing difficulties with school attendance or engagement
are out of education or at risk of becoming disengaged from learning
have experienced trauma, significant life changes or disruption to their education
benefit from animal-assisted, outdoor and experiential learning
thrive through practical, hands-on learning and developing life skills
