Careers and Vocational

At Stable Futures, careers education is about more than employment. It gives children and young people the tools to recognise their strengths, explore opportunities and feel hopeful about the future.

Why this Matters?

Whether they are preparing for college, training or the world of work, we help them take practical and supported steps forward.

The Careers and Vocational programme is flexible and tailored to each child. It supports decision-making, self-belief and independence at a pace that feels safe and achievable.

Exploring future possibilities with purpose and curiosity.

Children and young people are supported to think about what they enjoy, what they are good at and what might be possible in their future working lives.

  • Identifying personal strengths and interests
  • Learning about different job roles and industries
  • Understanding qualifications and routes into further study or employment

Trying out new environments in a safe and supported way.

Where appropriate, we offer placements and tasters that allow children and young people to build confidence and develop real-life skills, as well as supporting children and young people to secure work experience outside of our provision.

  • In-house tasters in areas like catering or outdoor work
  • Supported placements with trusted organisations
  • Time to reflect on what went well and what they learned

For many children and young people, thinking about the future can feel overwhelming. Some may have missed time in school or lost confidence in their ability to succeed. By breaking down next steps into manageable parts and offering real-world experiences, we help them see what is possible.

Learners can work towards AQA Unit Awards and Certificates, celebrating progress, engagement and achievement in a supportive and flexible format.
