PSHE

Equipping children and young people for life, relationships and independence

Why PSHE ?

At Stable Futures, PSHE is a central part of how we support the personal development, wellbeing and future readiness of the children and young people in our care. We know that many face a complex mix of challenges, and our PSHE offer is designed to meet them where they are, building knowledge, resilience and self-worth one step at a time.

Supporting the body and mind.

This area is often a top priority in alternative provision, where children and young people may face medical, emotional or mental health challenges. Our aim is to help them feel safer in their bodies and more in control of their emotions.

Promoting respect, boundaries and personal safety.

This area supports young people to develop healthy relationships through an understanding of trust, mutual respect and appropriate boundaries. Learners are encouraged to recognise their rights, manage peer relationships and identify bullying, discrimination or unsafe behaviour. Teaching is inclusive, age-appropriate and responsive to learners’ lived experiences.

  • Healthy Relationships
Understanding friendships, positive social skills and how to recognise controlling or unsafe behaviour.
  • Anti-Bullying and Inclusion
Addressing bullying, discrimination and harmful language while celebrating diversity and protected characteristics.

At Stable Futures, PSHE is never one-size-fits-all. Every child or young person brings their own story, and we aim to meet them with curiosity and care.

Learners can work towards AQA Unit Awards and Certificates, celebrating progress, engagement, and achievement in a supportive and flexible format.
