Behind every session at Stable Futures is a skilled, caring team with experience across education, therapeutic support, outdoor learning and equine practice. We work together to create a calm, consistent environment where children and young people feel safe, supported and ready to re-engage with learning.
Gary Carlin
Director
Gary has 28 years’ experience in social work, specialising in residential care, trauma, and child protection. An advocate of equine-facilitated therapy, he integrates horses into trauma-informed care to promote resilience, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth.
Rachel Redgwell
Director
Rachel brings 25+ years in children’s social care, specialising in residential support, safeguarding, and therapeutic practice. DDP-trained, she has led large teams, influenced national policy, and created nurturing, trauma-informed environments that empower young people.
Emily Clayton
Centre Manager
Emily brings 15+ years supporting individuals and families affected by adversity, mental health challenges, and trauma. Combining strategic leadership with her love of horses, she ensures Stable Futures delivers trauma-informed, strength-based support and transformative experiences.
Danielle
Deputy Centre Manager
Danielle leads on behaviour management, drawing on her NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and extensive equine-based learning experience. She supports young people to overcome barriers, build confidence, and thrive in structured, safe learning environments.
Emma
Stable Manager
Emma has extensive experience in equine care, rescue, and welfare-led management. A lifelong rider and educator, she teaches children safe equine handling while managing busy yards, fostering trust and connection between horses and humans
Martha
Animal Care Lead Tutor
Martha leads equine and animal care education, supporting young people with autism, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Equine Studies with Science, RDA Coach certification, and Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, delivering RDA and ASDAN qualifications.
Frith
Forest Provision Lead
Frith is a multi-qualified outdoor instructor and Level 3 Bushcraft Leader with extensive experience in outdoor education and animal-assisted learning. With a genuine passion for the outdoors, Frith inspires young people to explore, connect with nature, and develop confidence, resilience, and practical life skills. Their engaging, hands-on approach encourages curiosity, creativity, and a lasting appreciation for the natural world.
Emma
HTLA
A creative, calm learning mentor who builds confidence through arts, crafts and themed workshops. Emma also supports animal care, with training including Level 3 Animal Care and emergency first aid.
Kara
Equine Care Worker
Kara brings extensive hands-on experience with young and nervous horses, focusing on building trust, confidence, and performance. She holds a Level 3 Equine Groom apprenticeship with distinction and has managed competition yards and produced show-jumping horses. Her calm, knowledgeable approach makes her a key asset to Stable Futures.
Yvette
Equine Support Practitioner
Yvette blends education and hands-on equine experience. With a background in corporate management, teaching, and volunteering with SAFE and RDA, she supports young people’s confidence, wellbeing, and resilience through therapeutic equine experiences. She is currently training as an RDA Coach.
Shene
Learning Mentor
Shene brings a nurturing, creative approach to supporting young people, grounded in her First-Class Honours in Child and Youth Work with Psychology. Experienced in youth groups, international volunteering, and one-to-one support, she helps children build confidence, emotional wellbeing and curiosity through relationship-led, hands-on activities.
Kazia
City & Guilds Tutor
Kazia uses creativity and performance to engage learners, combining musical theatre, drama, and movement with accessible Maths, English, and Functional Skills teaching. Certified as a Drugs Mentor, Kazia fosters confidence, self-expression, and achievement among young people.
Liz
Equine Care Worker
Liz combines equine expertise with therapeutic insight. A qualified nurse and senior support worker, she has worked with individuals with learning support needs and managed therapeutic programmes, helping young people thrive and build confidence.
Our Standards
All Stable Futures staff are enhanced DBS checked, safeguarding trained and professionally supervised. We work to clear procedures so every session is safe, consistent and supportive.
