We provide Outdoor Learning and Therapeutic Horsemanship
for Children between 5 and 18

"Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquillity to troubled souls. They give us hope"

Toni Robinson

The Equine Assisted Learning approach is experiential and can be short or long term. Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses and then processing feelings, behaviours, and recurring patterns.

It offers us a powerful and effective therapeutic approach to use with children who may be resistant to verbal therapies. There are particularly positive impacts on trauma-generated emotional and behavioural issues.

Please look at our "What we do" page to see our Outdoor Learning and Therapy packages. Our services are bespoke so contact us to discuss your referral and we will tailor a package to the child's needs.

The children interact and form relationships with the horses

Transferable Learning:

They learn from the experiences with the horses in a way that involves them physically, emotionally and mentally.

Lessons learnt in this holistic way can be more easily absorbed and remembered, resulting in lasting and positive changes that can be transferred to their relationships.

Neuroscience has shown us remarkable similarities between the limbic (emotional) brain of horses and humans, which make it possible for horses to serve as both our mirrors and our teachers in terms of understanding ourselves, our emotions, and the way we relate to ourselves and those around us.

These intelligent, sensitive creatures are also our friends; they live entirely in the present, offering patience, forgiveness, and another chance when we get it wrong.

"Horses reflect our emotions, while at the same time they seem to know how to give us exactly what we
need to soothe our pain"

Barbara schulte

Meet our Horses

"Horses carry the wisdom of healing in their Hearts and offer it to any human who has the humility to listen."

We take the time it takes.
We have an equine facilitated lead/ Animal Lead Tutor, where the young people have the chance to work with our horses to again aid self-awareness, support with mental health needs.

A lead tutor is undertaking RDA training.

The hands on work with the horses allows time for reflection and understanding how we respond and how our behaviour can cause reactions in others.
